The short version
Phantom8 publishes general information, not advice for your specific shipment. We work hard to keep it accurate, but rules and charges in Papua New Guinea change, so always confirm the details with the relevant authority or a licensed professional before you act.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of phantom8.studio (the ‘website’), operated by Phantom8 (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the website.
2. What Phantom8 is, and isn’t
Phantom8 is an information website about shipping freight to Papua New Guinea. We are not a freight forwarder, customs broker, shipping line or legal adviser.
We don’t arrange, book, insure, track or handle shipments, and we don’t act on behalf of importers or exporters.
3. General information only
Content on the website is general in nature and doesn’t take your circumstances into account. It isn’t legal, customs, tax, financial or other professional advice.
Before making decisions about a shipment, confirm the requirements with the relevant authority, such as the PNG Customs Service or NAQIA, or with a licensed customs agent or freight forwarder.
4. Accuracy of information
We take reasonable care to make sure our content is accurate when it’s published, and we review it regularly. However, regulations, procedures, charges and transit times can change without notice, and we don’t guarantee that information on the website is complete, current or free from errors.
If you spot something that’s out of date, please let us know.
5. Third-party providers and links
The website may mention or link to freight forwarders, logistics providers, government agencies and other third parties. We don’t control their websites or services and aren’t responsible for their content, prices, availability or performance. Any arrangement you make with a third party is between you and that third party, on their terms.
Where we have a commercial relationship with a provider mentioned on a page, we disclose it on that page.
6. Quote and referral requests
If we offer a way to request quotes or introductions to freight providers, submitting a request doesn’t create an agreement for us to provide freight services. We pass your request to one or more providers, who contact you directly and set their own prices and terms. You’re under no obligation to accept any quote.
7. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the content on the website, including text, graphics, logos and design, is owned by or licensed to Phantom8 and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, download and print content for personal use or internal business use, and share links to our pages. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original page. You must not otherwise copy, republish, sell or adapt our content without our written permission.
8. Acceptable use
When using the website, you must not:
- use it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms;
- copy or collect content with automated tools, such as scrapers or bots, without our permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or interfere with how it works;
- upload or transmit viruses or other harmful code;
- submit information that is false or misleading, or that belongs to someone else without their permission.
9. Messages and submissions
When you send us a message, correction or suggestion, you confirm the information is accurate and that you’re entitled to share it. You allow us to use it to respond to you and to improve the website.
Please don’t send confidential or commercially sensitive information through the contact form.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can’t lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for any loss or damage, including indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of the website or your reliance on its content. This includes loss arising from delays, customs penalties, storage charges, damaged cargo or decisions made using information on the website.
Where our liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, it’s limited, at our option, to supplying the relevant services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
12. Changes to the website and these terms
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time. We may also update these terms. The current version will always be published on this page, and continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
14. Contact us
Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page. You can also read our Privacy Policy.
