  • worked in a relevant game artist role on a game that was actually released
  • minimum of 1-3 y’s job experience in the gaming industry
  • worked with Maya, 3D Studio Max and other 3D modelling software


  • work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
  • strong communications skills and be able to communicate your vision
  • learn new skills quickly
  • passion for games
  • have an art portfolio demonstrating a range of work and originality of style
  • draw from life
  • knowledge of anatomy and architecture
  • convey facial expressions and emotions
  • flair for colour, composition, perspective, modelling and texturing techniques, lighting and mood
  • skills in comic book art and/or storyboarding
  • work as part of a team and independently
  • be imaginative and creative
  • pay close attention to detail and have strong powers of observation
  • work to a style guide
  • be professional in a range of 3D graphics and animation softwares, such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, etc
  • be aware of the technical capabilities and limitations of different game platforms


  • create the visual elements of a game, such as characters, scenery, objects, vehicles, surface textures, clothing, props, user interface components, particles, post-processes and lighting
  • create concept art and storyboards which help communicate the proposed visual elements during the pre-production phase
  • create art assets according to the game specification and take responsibility for managing those assets
  • might also create artwork for packages, promotional materials and websites
  • that the game will be played on
